Save Yourself From The Office Cold

We are sure the signs are already showing. Your colleague’s sniffles are serenading the hallways and channeling Rudolf with the red noses. When it comes to catching a cold, your workplace can be one of the main “danger zones.” Below are some tips to get you in tip-top shape to overcome the spreading office cold.

Sanitize Overload

Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer will be your best friends during the cold season since germs love hanging around on equipment. This is often what leads to the spread of colds. If you use shared equipment, where possible clean it before use, and always disinfect your hands before and after using it.

Side tip: Since overusing hand sanitizer will dry out your hands – always remember to pack your hand moisturizer.

Take Action Right Away

Doing something sooner means you can get in the way of things getting worse. The moment you feel that stuffy feeling, jump into action! This is a time where you need to take in plenty of water to flush out toxins.

Immune Boosting Foods

Strengthen your immune system with foods rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants. Vitamin C is thought to increase the production of white blood cells. Oranges, grapefruit, red bell peppers and spinach are loaded with Vitamin C. Ginger is another ingredient many turn to after getting sick since it helps decrease inflammation.

Step Out When Possible

Instead of staying cooped in the office, step out often when possible. Getting some fresh air is a great remedy to fight the office cold.

And That’s The Tea…

Aches, congestion and sore throats don’t stand a chance against herbal teas. Just 1 mug of Chamomile and Ginger tea will bring relief to that cold because of it’s antioxidant properties.
